In Environment and Resource Studies, you'll learn by doing hands-on research in our exceptional facilities, such as our ecology and computer labs.
You can also get practical experience by taking environmental journalism courses or by volunteering with Alternatives Journal, which is based in the Faculty.
You'll work with professors who have an amazing range of research interests. As a student in ERS, you can get to know our professors and work with them on 4th year student research projects and graduate research projects.Valuable learning also takes place outside of the classroom, through entities like the Ecological Restoration and Conservation Research Group, Centre for Ecosystem Resilience and Adaptation, Centre for Applied Sciences in Ontario Protected Areas, and student groups such as the UW Sustainability Project and the Sustainable Technology Education Project. Experience hands-on learning at the Waterloo Summit Centre for the Environment.
