Graduate Programs - Masters and Ph.D.
Masters degree programs.
There are three degree programs in Geography to choose from:

Each program is offered as a full time (and part time) reserarch thesis degree. In addition, the M.E.S. and M.A. can be taken as a one year full time research paper degree. The one year research paper track typically is chosen by professionals (e.g. teachers) who are taking a year's break from work to gain further qualification.

In addition, the department also offers a graduate program in Tourism Policy and Planning (M.E.S.).

Normally, an undergraduate degree in geography or cognate discipline is a requirement for entry into a Masters program. In some instances a qualifying year or term may be required in preparation.

Ph.D. degree program. Typically the Ph.D. takes three to four years to complete and is an in-depth research degree. Normally, students must have a research thesis masters degree before embarking on this level of study.

Program Delivery.
The Master's and Ph.D. programs in Geography are offered through the Waterloo-Laurier Graduate Program in Geography. Full details can be found through the Waterloo-Laurier Graduate program in Geography website.
