The Faculty of Environment and the Department of Geography and Environmental Management host the Waterloo Region Skills Canada competition for geographic information systems (GIS) each year. Students from schools across Waterloo Region compete for the opportunity to represent their school board at the provincial Skills Canada competition in GIS.
